Yelp is a database of locations and reviews. It started covering San Fransisco then the rest of the country. Now it’s in Canada and UK. You can use it to find and review restaurants, shopping centers, and many more. Their database is accessible from an iPhone app as well.
It’ll take them forever to expand to every country so don’t expect “Yelp Saudi Arabia” anytime soon. I am aware of one alternative, it is called Qaym (Arabic for “to rate”). Currently it’s Arabic only and limited to restaurants. I hope it expands into more categories soon.

indeed it’s great idea , and let me tell you something , i am 100% agree , not just that but also i’ve sent a message to Qaym website , and told them in order to make that website even famous , you need to include little application to the iphone and let the other do the rate , he told me that they are about doin’ that , but never told me when.
i hope one day that dream come true
thanx

Hello Khalid,
Thank you very much for giving this snippet of Qaym. We are really glad to have such a supporting community like you and our friends in the Internet. We have great challenges in ahead of us and we need this support.
In regard to the mobile apps, we have released our API that allows anyone to create any app or browser extensions but till now we got some small previews but nothing really came to surface. However, we are working to push for it and we hope things work out soon.
Thanks again for your lovely post,
