The Passwords above are only for status checking they cannot help to configure….
100% working
1.[open]Browse into your STC cd
2.Try to find the folder “router” it maybe in vista folder
3.Finally try to find “jCPE”
4.This is a java script file Right Click and click edit you will find all the AFAQ shamel router name and passwords
These are special password for Advance configuration
Save them because these are the main passwords which helps for Keeping Wireless security pass…and a lot more…

Hi, I found the infomation very useful but I have misplaced the CD and STC reset my username and password..they send me the new user and password but without the fahess software I can’t update. They gave me a web portal address for echo life home gateway but the username and password din’t work what can i do?

This is the same problem I have now. I got my internet sim for free last May 2009 and used the 1 month free. After 1 month, I was not able to connect and use it, so I thought it already finished and okay since I did not subscribed to it. Now, STC Online posted e-bill for that internet sim I am not using after the 1-month free. I called 902 for that matter and simply told me to pay for it, since I used it even for that 1-month free. WHAT???? You know, how much is the bill now? its more than SR1,400. Horrible! For sure anyone will not going to pay for such amount a service he did not use. Is this the kind of service STC is being proud of?

Have the same problem as DZUN and ABDUL…..on 902 they said my data sim is disconnected. After 4 months i got a bill of more then 2500 riyals, and they are still billing me for it. They are not even disconnecting it!! THIEVES!

Hey guys , I run into the same issue , and I did not have internet for almost two weeks, unfortunately 907 agents do not know lot information about the Hardware their company dealing with, they good customer service , but they need training ….
Here is how I solved this problem
You will need two user id and passwords
one that let you access to your modem setting and the other that get to the net
1-open your browser
type 192.168.1.1
Enter Afaq_Shamel as user name, Stccpe_2009 as password
2- you will be directed into a page that will ask you about your DSL user id and password, ( I called STC for two weeks , and all I get that they sent my login information to me since two weeks for more than 50 times), but I never get it ????
they said we can not give it to you over the phone, because they can not see it, even the automotive service option they have when you call 907 don’t know the answer, in fact, when you enter your line number, the automation service will tell there is no DSL at your end?????? Something Weird
3- the DSL user ID and password will be Admin Admin, User User….etc, depend on your Modem model , for me I have Afag Shamel segma 006, the DSL login: User Password: User
4- The only issue I am searching the net for now, is securing my wireless network

People it seems that stc has done some modification with username and password i will again try to find out some new ****..lol BTW i think reseting the modem could fix the new issue

It’s like we have the same problem but mine is already solved. I also called 5X before it was fixed. I was lucky that on my 5th call the guy who attend my call- he really knows what’s the solution of my problem. He just texted the new username & password. After I entered it, my modem/internet connection becomes good & working. There is really an agent that they just pretend that they know & telling so many things on what to do but then whatever u will do on your PC still it’ll not work. Don’t stop calling and calling them until your problem is fixed. Good luck brother..

I think if you check your Fahese Activation wizard CD ” The CD that come with your Modem, and follow the following tree :\Vista\Flow\scripts\router
Finally try to find file name “jCPE” under the router folder, open it with NotePad,this file contain the modem configuration, I am not sure that if you change the password there and then rerun your cd might solve the problem
if you are looking for the ISP password , this can be giving over the phone from STC, I tried for almost three weeks and finally they gave me the user id and password over the phone

Hey guys,
Its really pretty much helped me to solve my password problem, and now my problem is the speed. i activated this JOOD PLUS worth 399 SR, but my download speed never exceeded than 220 / 250 kbps per second, and when i was using 256 kb connection ile to download 30 kbps, the in 512 it was 60 kbps and in 1024 kb it was 120 kbps, so in 4048 it should b 480 kbps, but it never crossed 250 kbps !!! I used the same modem which they r providing with the JOOD PLUS also tried lot of other modem.
so if some one can get help on this matter pls leave a reply.

hi Noor before i have the same problem but now i solve….this is acutely the using bandwidth problem.your computer do not use full bandwidth….some ways can solve your problem.
1:use mozila firefox latest ver
2:use your extra bandwidth in “gpedit.msc”command.
4:improve your ram
5:secure your wifi from unauthorize access and ping attacks.
6:use winxp service pack 3

OK I UNDERSTAND THE PROBLEM WITH MOST OF THE PEOPLE
DONT USE Fahes Activation wizard BECAUSE IT AUTOMATICALLY ASSIGNES YOU WITH A WIRELESS PASSWORD AND MAYBE MODEMS TOO…
Dont use Fahess ~ and reset your modem once click the button at the back for 5~10 sec and then leave it it will reset and then simply use WIFI or LAN get your self connected and go into the modem
IM 100% SURE THESE PASSWORDS WILL WORK BECAUSE THEY WORK FOR ME TOO

Dear Noor,
The download speed depends on the bandwidth not the speed of your internet.
If you were getting 250 kbps download speed, it is really good. Be happy with what you have brother. Even am using a 4 MBPS Connection with around 180-200 kpbs download speed.

GOOD DAY EVERYONE, i have afaqshamel net connection. i am using a laptop i bought from here in riaydh. my problem is i got a new laptop from canada. when i tried to connect it it says type in the WEP KEY, i checked where to find the WEP key and it says it may be found on the bottom side of the router. i typed all the numbers there but no avail. As far as I know with STC , there are two access level, one is to access the Modem configuration and the second to access the Internet Service Provider, to access the modem configuration

once you access the Modem cinfigraution, and open your web , you will be asked to enter you Internet service provider configuration, these login information you should get it from STC You mentioned “i went to their office and still the guy can’t understand, he just told me to call 907 which is useless…”, for me it took me a month to get my login information, I can not understand their policy with their customers, but they all say call 907, and only one person gave me my ISP login information
Your ISP Login information :

Password : here is 7 number
You may want to use Fahes ( the STC software to help you with the configuration) Keep call Stc to get the ISP login information
One can see term “WEP KEY” with wireless network
if I configured my Afagshamel for wirless network, and I secured my network, I will be asked for “web key” to access the internet

sahabuddin, did u do these steps?when you open 192.168.1.1 you will be instructed to enter password, right? then here you are to enter the Afaq_Shamel (username) and Stccpe_2009 (password)..after that you should be in the ISP configuration..on this window its the time you are going to enter the username and password that STC sent to you..and can set-up wireless connection of your internet..goodluck

if you live in Jeddah , you may experience a connection problems, no dial tone because of the storm that hit Jeddah almost a month ago, the flood caused serious damages to many phone cables……I live in South Jeddah , one phone line still does not work since 1 month, and the other line 5 minutes give dial tone and 5 minutes no dial tone

I am thinking to upgrade from 512 kbps (Afaq dsl / saudi net cards) to 4 mbps (Braodband Jood). My question is, is it worth the price?
People are complaining about slow speeds (200 – 250 KB), however theoretically we should be getting 512 KB (KB not Kb).
And I think if we buy now, we should get a free modem from STC because of the offer that ends on Dec 31 2009.

My internet connection is DOWN since saturday (26Dec’09….. 5 days now), and it’s been like this till today. I’ll tried many times to unplug & unplug again and again all the electrical cords, telephone cables, as well as computer cables, etc. but nothing changed. It’s still the same as it is. The DSL Shamel router/modem said “Internet connection is down; try configuring the router”. I am not a computer expert, and I don’t know how to do it. I tried to call 907 many times but only answering machines is the one talking. How can I call STC technician for this matter? Also, my landline number is not ringing and doesn’t have a dial tone at all. Perhaps, this is also one of the problem. I was issued with #006 Afaq_Shamel Modem. Can anyone help me with my problem?

the problem is i am sharing internet connection with my neighbour , i got an ethernet cable from his home, sccording to him it is 1mbps connection but damn i was getting a download speed of only 70kbps last few days and now it is down 40kbps even though he is not at his home not using it…is this a problem from stc or some kind of setting in his modem…and his modem is from stc 014 modem…any idea pls!

I have recently switched to BroadBand Jood which costs 249 a month and DSL upto 4mbps.
For two weeks after activation it was working fine. But after that i can see that DSL link speed is always 251kbps

i taken internet connection around of 15Dec,09 i have plan of 4mbps with information given by STC before connection that i will get first amount of bill 244(net)+60(DSLcharge)+300(installation cost)=604SR but today on 30th jan,10 i got bill of 1059.13SR.
I try to 907 but coustermer car representative npt given reply an cutted phone.
Pls anybody give me why this big amount of bill for me .
And what is its duration ..
Pls suggest me.

Dear Mr. Sahabuddin, AOA, Actually I also suffered a lot. I can help you, How to manage the issue. Actually 1st Bill is always for Previous Charges + Next Two Months Charges. So again calculate that the bill is correct or not.
Otherwise send email directly at ecare@stc.com.sa. They will reply u back or their representative will call you.
Other way is to go to STC Customer Care (Billing Department) and apeak them about fault. They will reduce it. If the bill is correct, Then you can make its easy installments.
I give u a suggestion that You must get Broadband Jood PLUS (SR. 399 Monthly) and enjoy Free 4 MB, Free Calls to Local + Mobile & Call to FC will be 80 H/Min. Best Regards

could u pls. analyze my billing for STC Afaq Shamel DSL 1MB subscription.my connection started last October 7 or 8, 2009.i received my first bill 1st week of January 2010 which is SR1,019.86.As far i know the monthly subscripton for 1MB is only SR211, installation=SR300, the modem is SR220 but they said this is SR20per month since this is payable on installment.
I just want to know how come my bill becomes SR1,019.86.Is this good for 3months already?How does STC bill their clients?Is it advance bill or after the service have consumed?I cannot understand their Customer Service (907) they are not consistent on what they’re telling to me whenver i call.

I did apply for internet service thru STC Afaq Shamel DSL 2Mbps on 21Nov’09. After so much talking with a STC service man on the phone, he sales talk me about upgrading to 4Mbps which far more better than 2Mbps & not much difference in monthly charges compared to 4Mbps subscription. Then, after 1 week,my internet connection was officially installed on 02Dec’09 with the 4Mbps subscription category (based on “@4096.com” username which was text to me in advanced). The problem, I have not reached that 4Mbps speed but rather 1.2 to 1.6Mbps only (not even at 2Mbps which is my original subscription). I called them many times about my problem but no response. My problem now is I don’t really know how will STC charge me for this coz’ up to now, I never receive any STC internet bills coming from them. Please advise me, my fellow users.

if u have started using their service on Nov. 2009, then your bill will come on you after 3 months..if u want to know ur bill in advance call 907 and choose the option about billing..this will enable u to know your account #.also u can update the status of your bill by their site http://www.stc.com.sa..just enter ur tel. no. and the acct. no. u have known from calling 907..expect the bill to be a bit bigger because it is good for 3 months..if u have doubt on ur bill, just go to STC office (i guess main office) to ask about the details of the bill..sometimes what is in their site or on the printed bill, is different from ur actual bill..hope i helped u in a little way..

I got bill of 1053.13SR. it is too much befroe taking the connection from STC inform me that u will get first bill of 300SR-installation charge,244SR for internet4MBPS plan amount and 60SR for DSL line .as per their instruction bill should be of 604SR . But i got it 1053.13SR . why this is too much pls. give me proper detail.
I also contact on 907 inform that contact at STC office. I also contact him but they reply me that this bill of one month. how like this i cant understand. than they replied that u contact on 907. but u know the service of 907.
So sir pls give me a reply and next bill in which month and how much it will generate.

It has been observed that http://www.go.com.sa is providing data & Phone Service through Wimax. If this service will be successful, STC will go to Hell. Coz it is not providing Customer Support, After Sale Service, Behaved Agents, etc. Its disater for the company that they are ruining theirselves among International market. My Phone is Broadband Jood PLUS, not working since 8 days. I made 3 times complaint but still no action. Always they are asking to wait for 48 hours. I am getting fad up of its services.

I agree that STC customer services is not very impresive i had placed order to install dsl i got my dsl modem on time but i was not able to use internet because the modem was not able to synchronize with stc exchange i called STC 3 times on 906 initially they told me to configure the modem again they told me there is noting wrong with your line the modem is not configured correctly i new that modem is configured correctly after calling them many times finally they agreed to send dsl technician at my place and the problem got fix.

I got Afaq DSL Shamel from STC 5 days back and still unable to use it. It seems there is some issue with DSL modem. I have DSL modem Huawei Echolife HG520b also known as modem 007.
Modem get connected to STC and i can ping to internet sites like google also. But when i try to browse internet like http://www.google.com or http://www.yahoo.com and page never returns and modem get disconnected after few seconds.
I borrowed another modem from friend it is working fine at my home.
I have asked many timesSTC to replace modem they are unable to fix/change it.
i have ted reseting the modem and followed setting as reccomnded by STC it never works.
Please suggest.

try to change the dialing mode of your modem model 007, change it from AUTO to ON DEMAND. if it still doesnt work, maybe check the cable for loose connections…

Yes its easy. Go to your gateway wireless setting and put a passkey on your wireless. WEP is lowest level of security key so you better use WPA-personal or WPA2-personal.

if is that the case, somebody had change the username or password of the modem, you need to reset the modem by using a needle and press steadily the reset button at the back of the modem for at least 5 seconds

if i were you guys, apply now for 8mbps afaq shamel for 266sr.. BUT it will takes you almost 1 month and a half to install the line and a dsl modem. its very fast up to 14mbps during off peak. once the dsl technician (be sure its a FILIPINO GUY because he will explain you everything and also how to configure the modem) comes into your home, ask him to check first the attenuation and noise ratio of your connection from the STC Cabinet (located on streets)through his handheld gadjet.if ok, you will enjoy the fast connection. STC is making improvements now in their dsl services..s

for those who using the stc modem who cant access the login window of the modem… i found out the modem brand echolife was made by huawei – a very good brand… try the static ip address instead of dhcp..
click –> network connections – right click local area connections–> click properties –> a new window appears click the name internet protocol (tcp/ip)and click properties button.. then input these number
ip address 192.168.1.2
subnet mask 255.255.255.0
default gateway 192.168.1.1
click OK
open internet explorer and type this address
http://192.168.1.1
click enter and the modem login window appears…

if you want to change the default username for Afaq Shamel modem(for model 011, i dont know about the rest, could be the same),
run the command mode (start->run->cmd)
type: telnet 192.168.1.1
(assuming you didnt change the modem ip)
type the password (stccpe_2007 or stccpe_2009 or your own password)
if you want to change the adminstrator username to “administrator” for example you type:
sys adminname administrator

if you are upgrading to a higher speed like 8mbps, besides changing the DSL username and password, i recommend you to change your modem to model 007 because it generates less heat and higher bandwidth capability, no joke because i subscribed 8mbps but my speedtest reaches up to 26mbps during off peak hours

How Can I change the modem type..
I’m having Modem 006 and my speed tests shows 0.5-0.7 Mbps even my speed is 8Mbps which i subscribed..
Fed up with calling customer care to solve this issue..
if I restart the modem, it will give a good speed for 10-15 minutes then the same problem..
My friend in the next Flat is having 007 model with 4Mbps speed; don’t have any issues..

hey guys it’s been so long i haven’t posted any thing here. It’s because I have no more STC connection. we transferred to a new location wherein there is no installed STC line boxes.
i don’t know why STC customer service cannot cancel any request cancellation of subscription. but if u r a new customer they are eager to get any info about u. i’m so pissed off because. i requested this thru stc office since last month but when i checked last night its not yet cancelled. the fact that i already paid the whole balance including the bill the charged on me which i didn’t used.
guys, be careful with ur STC subscription. money is hard to earn if u only spend it with not-so-worthwhile thing like this. always update the status of ur subscription. maybe u have problem about it without knowing it.

Tariq, reset your modem then use the cd of the Modem to set up and configure. Upon configuring / setting, there’s a portion that will ask your username and password. The problem is after you set up your modem using the cd, is how to set up and configure your modem using http://192.168.1.1

Assalamualaikum,I have a stc Afaq Shamel Modem model – 014 and I upgraded my speed from 128kb/s to 4mn/s and now I want to enter my new user name and password that was provided by stc. I have already reseted my modem more than ten times and when I open the link http://192.168.1.1 it asks me my echelife username and pass, I have tried the following usernames and password but all in vain…. Afaq_Shamel……Stccpe_2009 Afaq_Shamel……Stccpe_2008 Afaq_Shamel……Stccpe_2007 PLease help!!

I have received a message that my 512 kbps will be upgraded to 4 mbps and username and password were sent with it. How do I ensure that it is upgraded or how do I do so?
Above, I read that I need to go to WAN settings but where would that be? My modem page http://192.168.1.1 does not show anything that I can edit. It just gives my information.

@Abdul Rahman: IDK what modem you have but it’s USRNME and PSSWRD are not the same. Some goes: Afaq_shamel w/ stccpe_2006(7,8, or 9). Their usrnme starts with a cap “A” and the Shamel, some has cap “S” or the lower case “s”. Psswrd were: “Stccpe_xxxx” or stccpe_xxxx”. (INFO: CpE means– Computer Engineer. I wonder stccpe would mean STC Computer Engineer.
)
@Anwar: IDK which modem for Afaqshamel supports TELNET because that function should be disabled. TELNET is often used by DoS attacks where it exploits your port 23 in accessing your modem. If it is enabled to your modem, your ISP did that on purpose. Access or browse your files? Or access your webcam? Anyway, TELNET is unix based command. You may type “help”, “/help”, “?”, or “man”.

I have Afaq DSL Shamel 4MBPS connection. from last 1 week it was working properly but yesterday when I turn on the modem the DSL Light on the Modem was Blinking it Should be stable i think and the internet was not working I called 907 and 906 the to get technical support maybe 10 times & they told me to reset the modem and reinsert the password, I did that but still the same error. If anyone have any idea that how to fix it please help. by the way I checked my line with telephone set it is working properly and there is dial tone.

Have u received any small device with modem like connector which is one INPUT for main Line and two OUTPUT (one for Modem & one for Telephone). Use this device, ur problem will be solved. I had the same problem.

I think you are talking about the Spliter the answer is yes i am using spliter. Its not working i think the problem is in the modem. maybe i have to wait a long time for an STC Tecnician to come to my house & help me out.

Dear MAK,
If your modem is from linksys, then you will find this problem regularly. As similar problem happening with me. Actually I get connected to DSL through my modem (linksys WAG200) and after 1 min or so gets disconnected again.
So I called STC they told me, my modem is not supported with their newly upgraded technology MSAN.
So I’ve to get a new modem, that’s the only solution.

few days ago i received call from STC that my DSL speed will be up graded to 4gb. after 2 days i received sms with new user id and password, i am using windows 7 os, i try to follow instruction base on sms from stc, unfortunately i cannot open the web page, anybody who have the idea how it will work, i appreciate your help.

For those who have forgot User ID and Password. Here is solution.
Reset your Modem by pressing a small black button at the back of your Modem for 10 to 15 Sec. Modem will restart automatically. Wait until all lights become green. Now your Modem is reset to default setting. Open Web Browser and type http://192.168.1.1
User ID: Afaq_Shamel
Password : Stccpe_2009.
It opens Configuration page.
Click on Basic and enter user ID & Password provided by STC. Click on to submit.
Now you can browse Internet

guys, i have STC afaq shamil package… my con speed is set to 4 Mbps from STC…. i am usign speedtouch ST585 ADSL gateway… i am getting 1.47 Mbps on1 port and 4 Mbps on another 2 ports… kindly help me out… why there is low speed on one port…speedtouch shows DSL con speed of 4.7 Mbps…….

sorry for stc most dreadful company i m sorry i wiil remove my land line after more than 20 years stc puting me broad band when i never ask for it more than 20 complaints latest complaint number is 2410054 directly i went to stc office complained 8002444455 i dont know what is wrong when u never ask and still they send you bill 390 riyals it is horrible i m sorry to use bad words it is better for them to beg rather than cheat us once again using very bad words but dsl made me crazy to use these bad words if some good man working in stc is there please look into this matter bye

thanks i cancelled my dsl connection today it was horrifying months u see when u never applied and still they are charging broad band bill can they prove this which office i applied for broaqd band i can have open challenge for them if they can prove i will give them double will u believe 1 week before i cancelled my mobile due to there problem then they call me we will give you 1 year service without 35 riyals per month 50 percent discount but i told them thanks so if again any bill will come i will remove my land line after 20 years may be i have paid bills for this phone unlimited i have paid 23 thousand riyals when first year i came to saudia as young surgeon and it will be worst day if i remove this number well lets watch and see i am going 50 days vacation till then have nice time

Can anybody please tell me how to make the SAGEM 2804F@ast modem to do an automatic reset/reboot when connection gets lower than 4mbps?
This is what I have noticed, whenever one connects, they get the full 4mbps connection, as time passes, others who also connect gets the higher priority,and those that are currently connected gets bumped to lower priority,thus lower speed.
Is there any software that will enable to check line download speed and resets the sagem modem if it goes below 4mbps?
There is one that I know of, but it is only for Thompson modems. found under : http://www.modemtool.de

I’d Afaq Shamil for year now or more than that. Since 3months I’m using 8mb/s. Last month I consumed 426.70GB bandwidth. STC is good. I live in Murabbah and here its good.

Hi, everyone I am using Afaq Shamel Wi-MAX from STC and they brought the MODEM for Wi-MAX. Now, my friends always downloading movies, software, etc. all the time. And I and the other users cannot log-in or cannot use the internet if he is using internet. Please if anyone know how to configure the WI-MAX modem from STC to limit his downloading usage..let me know.. thanks..

I need you to study your modem’s QOS (quality of service) section. this will limit your users download rate. Im studying mine still.
but first you must get to know your modems user name and password, so you can login. If you cant, I suggest, reset your system, and login with the original user name and password
