Update: More people are having problems (here and here). The problem is apparently caused by using any external DNS (Google DNS for example). This is very weird.
This is not surprising. Some STC customers (including me, Muneeb in Dhahran and Abdullah in Riyadh) are having problems accessing Google. This appears to be random because others told me that it’s working properly.
This is not only effecting searches but Google Reader, Google Analytics, Youtube and other services! This is the error message by the way:
Network Error (tcp_error)
A communication error occurred: “Operation timed out”
The Web Server may be down, too busy, or experiencing other problems preventing it from responding to requests. You may wish to try again at a later time. For assistance, contact your network support team.
Please, STC: fix your servers already.

My company uses SPS and we had a brief period of time yesterday when google didn’t work either. It’s working fine now.

I get the same error here in Khobar when accessing google and it is not fixed yet. It has been round for a few days now. Looks like STC has server support that is either neglecting or too slow to respond to customer issues. <:(

It seems that the when you click on the search button, nothing happens. But if you are using google toolbar, you can do your searches through the search box on the top. Also, you can use dogpile.com and similar sites and select google as your only search engine.
