Here is an example: bought a Vostro 1510 (my last Dell ever, and the last time I ever make a Dell choice with my money or somebody else's). The machine shipped with the wrong keyboard, not wrong for the region, but the bottom line of the keyboard was mismatched. Of course, out of the box, you don't get this, that is until you upgrade your firmware to the latest. Google a bit and the horror stories emerge. What is ironic is that I bought this specific Vostro 1510 at my personal expense to replace a work HP that was dying so that I would not have to wait two weeks. With the keyboard issue, I ended waiting 3 weeks before I could use the bloody thing. The machine performs and feels way better than an HP, but the service behind is not really there (more like non-existent). So I say stop buying Dells, let the sales slide big time so that Dell realizes that basic quality is NOT an option. Ahmed Jedi? Cute.
